Data Security

The Information Warehouse is the central repository of Princeton University's electronically stored institutional data. Our warehouse is designed to facilitate reporting and analysis so that decision makers can have better information on which to act.

The Information Warehouse stores a large volume of data from across multiple subject areas. In order to protect sensitive data while providing uniform access to enterprise information, CeDAR developed security roles for Package Custodians to manage. Users are then assigned to these roles according to their job responsibilities.

These security roles provide fine-grained access to information and define privileges based on specific row and column access needs.

University staff must request access to both data in theInformation Warehouse as well as to the reporting and analysis tools.
